Unexplained chronic cough (UCC)(> 8 weeks duration; without an evident cause identified after appropriate investigations and therapeutic trials) is a common yet poorly understood clinical presentation. Small trials have shown a benefit in some patients from neuromodulating agents such as pregabalin, but treatment response is unpredictable. Therefore, we aimed to review the clinical characteristics of UCC patients in our outpatient Respirology clinic, as well as patient outcomes on pregabalin therapy. The first 25 UCC patients (2019 to 2022) who accepted a trial of pregabalin at Montfort Hospital (Ottawa, Ontario, Canada) were reviewed.
