Due to their nature to be independent from each other, loosely-coupled applications are gaining popularity with the introduction of wireless data communication and portable computing devices (such as PDAs or 3G cellular phones). Publish/subscribe middleware is considered a good candidate for integrating loosely-coupled components in a mobile environment. This work presents the validation of a publish/subscribe middleware service extended with a support for mobile components and applications. Due to the difficulty in reasoning about such distributed systems, validate a proposed approach, for extending a publish/subscribe middleware with the capability of serving mobile application, by using a formal analysis. In this paper, we present the design and implementation of our models and the work on the formal side.
