Objective

To evaluate and compare renal artery Doppler (RAD) parameters in monochorionic, diamniotic (MCDA) twin pregnancies with and without twin-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS).

Study Design

We conducted a prospective study of women with MCDA twin pregnancies complicated by TTTS and women with gestational-age matched MCDA twin pregnancies without TTTS. For each twin, RAD assessment was performed from a coronal view of the fetus to measure pulsatility index (PI), resistive index (RI), and peak systolic velocity (PSV). We compared each measurement between donors and controls, and recipients and controls. Inter-twin ratios of the PI, RI, and PSV were compared between TTTS cases and MCDA controls.
