简介
Background: Clinical utility of cardiac biomarker testing during pregnancy in women with pre-existing cardiac disease is currently not well known. We studied the levels and temporal trends of NT-proBNP and hs-cTn throughout pregnancy in women with pre-existing cardiac disease and sought to determine the association between NT-proBNP and hs-cTn and pregnancy outcomes.
Methods: A total of 201 pregnant women with pre-existing cardiac disease were prospectively recruited. Clinical data and serial levels of NT-proBNP and hs-cTn were obtained. Mixed effects linear regression analysis was used to compare the NT-proBNP and hs-cTn levels between time periods and certain subgroups.
Results: Mean NT-proBNP was 121.9 pg/mL [204.5], 99.9 pg/mL [279.6], 300.1 pg/mL [469.], and 138.9 pg/mL [228.8] for first/second, third trimesters, labour and delivery and postpartum, respectively. NT-proBNP significantly …
