Globally, rapid increase in population is one of the major concerns pressurizing global food production systems. In this context, sustainable assurance of global food security is a challenge to agriculture. Although assurance of food security is unimaginable without the use of synthetic inputs, viz., pesticides, fertilizers, etc., in agricultural crop production, perpetual use of synthetic inputs attributes to increase global carbon footprint, degrades soil and water quality, respectively. Therefore practicing and adopting the technologies targeting agricultural sustainability is the only solution to balance crop productivity and environmental safety.
