Although impact of statins on stent restenosis is still under debate, statins have been reported to reduce the incidence of cardiovascular events after coronary stenting, and current guidelines recommend the routine use statins in patients who receive a coronary stent [1]. However, approximately half of all patients discontinue statin therapy within the first year, and adherence decreases further during followup period [2, 3]. However, no studies have investigated the relationship between statin non-adherence and in-stent restenosis (ISR). Therefore, we investigated the rates of statin adherence and ISR among patients who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) and who were prescribed a statin at their discharge.
