Historically, modularity in the Learning Technologies community has been taken into account with the Learning Objects approach, in order to face the problem of high cost of production of teaching material and to address reuse. Concerns regarding education beyond the formal context, from various perspectives including social and ethical, are nowadays unfortunately related to the large (mis)use of the mainly centralized social networks. The work reported in this paper recalls modularity when applied to social networks - Decentralized Social Networks (DSNs) - by drawing on contributions from the literature and the practice in order to instantiate the university experience in the RSDs foundations. We hope that the proposed services can contribute to reflections and actions of educators and researchers towards a re-education that is now both necessary and feasible.
