It is widely accepted that nutritional health is essential for persons living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHIV/AIDS) to maximize the period of asymptomatic infection, and improve adherence. HIV infection affects nutritional health in three ways: Reduced food intake, alters metabolic process and impaired nutrient absorption. Unfortunately, when these occur, at the same time, they can rapidly accelerate weight loss and cause malnutrition simultaneously. This therefore contributes to the progress of the burden of the disease (HIV/AIDS). The World Health Organization (WHO) noted with a lot of concern that to fight the scourge well, there must be a program dubbed as Foods by Prescription (FBP) which will assist those who are HIV positive and they are malnourished.
