To develop effective IoT-based e-health systems for alerting purposes, two critical requirements must be met: 1) precise classification of alerts based on their severity levels; 2) minimal latency to enable real-time notifications. These challenges are particularly prominent in emergency healthcare settings, where patients present with a wide range of illnesses and injuries. The traditional identification and diagnosis processes in such scenarios often consume significant time. In this context, the classification scheme used is known as triage, which aims to categorise patients based on the severity of their conditions. This paper introduces an IoT-based emergency healthcare system that utilises smart triage to automate the patient diagnosis and severity classification process.
