We read the recent article by Baharvand-Ahmadi et al. with interest [1]. According to the authors, Avicenna was a follower of humoral theory which anatomy was not too important in this theory, therefore, he did not attention to anatomy and copied Galen's anatomical parts [1]. It seems that, there is a misinterpretation of Avicenna's opinion [2]. Although humoral theory was important in treatment by Avicenna, a significant part of the Avicenna's Canon is devoted to anatomy and anatomical composition diseases [2]. Regardless of existing disagreements with Avicenna whether or not performed human dissection first-hand or undertook it in secret, it seems that most of his descriptions of the structure of the human body were unique for his time [3].
