Purpose: Using a novel cross-species transcriptome mining workflow to identify new immune gene biomarkers associated with immune checkpoint therapy (ICT) in metastatic cutaneous and uveal melanoma.
Methods: Repository microarray data from responsive and resistance ICT models (GSE122222) were revisited for selecting top upregulated and downregulated genes associated with ICT resistance. The differential expression data of the selected gene was further obtained from the GDC-TCGA dataset for both cutaneous (SKCM) and uveal melanomas (UVM). We performed Spearman’s correlation analysis with CD8A and BAP1 differential expression as ICT response criteria in SKCM and UM, respectively. Kaplan–Meier survival analysis was further used to compare which genes simultaneously and significantly impact survival in both cancer types.
