简介
This article discusses a rare and often misdiagnosed condition called uterine intravenous leiomyomatosis (IVL), which involves the growth of benign smooth muscle cells from the uterus into the blood vessels. The condition can become life-threatening if it spreads to the inferior vena cava (IVC) or right heart chambers. The article presents a case study of a 48-year-old woman with asymptomatic Stage IV IVL, highlighting the potential for delayed diagnosis in this group. The patient underwent treatment for a thrombus in her IVC, and surgical intervention was eventually performed to remove the tumor and prevent recurrence. The article emphasizes the difficulty of diagnosing IVL due to its rarity and varied clinical presentations.[Extracted from the article]
