Objective
To investigate the reliability of different EEG methods to detect behavioral evidence of language processing.
Background
No gold standard currently exists for detecting language abilities in patients with traumatic disorders of consciousness (DOC).
Design/Methods
EEG was acquired during rest and in response to spoken language in 16 controls in 16 controls (4F; age 28.5±7.8 years) and 17 patients with severe traumatic brain injury (4F; 4 coma, 1VS; 2MCS -; 4MCS+; 6PTCS; age 27.0±7 years; 9.5±4.8 days post injury).
