Background: Every 18 seconds there is a new HIV infection globally. However, every person newly diagnosed will need to be treated for life and could transmit HIV to others. Hence, we need radical changes in our prevention strategy to cut new HIV infections down to zero. Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis could be given to millions of people worldwide with no increased risk of safety issues during treatment. However, knowledge about Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis in Ghana is low mainly due prioritising this service among the key population (Gay men and female se workers). This project seeks to increase awareness of the level of Ghanaians about Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis.

Method: The study will use cross-sectional descriptive design. 1500 participants will be recruited using snowball sampling methods in the Ga west Municipality in Accra. Data will be analysed quantitatively using tables and frequencies.
