简介
Kinases are a group of enzymes that transfer a phosphate group from adenosine triphosphate (ATP) to threonine, serine, or tyrosine domains of specific proteins in response to an extracellular stimulus. Broadly, this process regulates diverse cellular regulatory functions. Tyrosine kinases have a crucial role in regulating growth factors signaling and can be divided into receptor and nonreceptor tyrosine kinases. 1 The tyrosine kinase receptors are membrane surface proteins with an extracellular N-terminal region that binds to a ligand (usually a growth factor) and a C-terminal region that presents a binding domain for tyrosine proteins. The binding of a ligand to the extracellular portion results in autophosphorylation of the cytoplasmic domains to a Clinical Oncology, Instituto do Cancer do Estado de Sao Paulo, University of Sao Paulo, Av.
