Pulmonary fibrosis is the leading cause of death in systemic sclerosis (SSc), an autoimmune fibrosing disease. While expert consensus recommends screening for interstitial lung disease (ILD), it is variably implemented and there remains a need to examine testing within healthcare systems. Real-world electronic health record (EHR) data may be used to identify patients and earlier stages of disease. Study participants were sampled from our de-identified patient databases using SSc International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10) codes from January 1, 2016 through June 30, 2021. Structured data extraction included demographic data, comorbidities (using ICD-10 codes), medication use, process outcomes (CT Chest, PFTs) and clinical outcomes (ILD ICD-10 codes, hospitalization/emergency visits, death).
