Cancer is the second leading cause of mortality globally and epidemiological evidences indicate that anti-oxidant rich diet reduces the risk of cancer. Recently, the alarming escalations of cancer further warrants better understanding of optimum therapeutic treatment strategies for cancer. Although number of conventional approaches such as chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgical interventions are available for treating malignant tumors as well as localized lesions, they are associated with many adverse effects. Therefore, combating oxidative stress along with reducing adverse effects of chemotherapy could be the choice of treatment regimen for cancer.
