Bangka Belitung is an archipelagic province where beef cattle have become a new commodity in the last decade. Most of the beef in Bangka Belitung is imported from other islands, such as Java and Sumatra. One of the efforts to increase the beef cattle population for beef sufficiency in Bangka Belitung is by promoting Artificial Insemination (AI) to farmers. AI applications have been massively implemented since 2017 through the UPSUS SIWAB program from the Ministry of Agriculture. The achievement of AI applications in Bangka Belitung increased from 2017 to 2021. In 2021 AI has contributed 40.87% to the number of pregnancies and 28.30% to the birth of calves in Bangka Belitung.
