简介
Fish, Labeo rohita, samples were exposed to median lethal concentration (7.5 µg/litre) for 96 h and sublethal concentration (0.75 µg/litre) of fenvalerate for 1, 5, 10 and 15 days, and blood glucose and glycogen levels were assessed as stress indicators. In lethal concentration, the blood glucose level was more at day 4 (+68.3) and glycogen level was less at day 4 (liver - 57.8, muscle - 64.1, gill - 25.2) compared to their controls. In sublethal concentration, blood glucose level in different exposure periods decreased in the order of 1>5>10>15 day and glycogen content in different tissues was in the order of 1<5<10<15 days. The disturbance in blood glucose and glycogen level may be due to toxic stress that might have impaired neuroendocrinal coordinative centers, which may lead to continuous break down of glycogen reserves in different tissues by improper stimulation of phophorylase enzymatic machinery.
