Genetic diversity is fundamental for conducting successful crop improvement programs. The objectives of this study were to assess the genetic diversity and to deduce the population structure among bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) genotypes using phenotypic traits and simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers to identify divergent and complementary parental genotypes for drought-tolerance breeding. Fifty-two selected bread wheat genotypes were evaluated at five test sites in the 2018/19 cropping season using a 4 × 13 alpha lattice design with two replications. The study was carried out under two sowing dates, i.e., early and late planting, corresponding to non-stress and drought-stress conditions, respectively.
