The in vitro antifungal activity of C. alata leaf extracts was investigated against A.[Aspergillus] niger, R. japonicum, C.[Candida] albicans, C. tropicalis and R.[Rhodotorula] glutinis. The various organic extracts of C. alata showed high activity against all test fungi. The inhibitory effects of the extracts were comparable with those of standard antibiotics (amphotericin B and nystatin).
