The in vitro antimicrobial activity of C. alata leaf extracts was investigated against Staphylococcus aureus, S. aureus coagulase positive, Bacillus subtilis, B. cereus, B. stearothermophilus, Escherichia coli, Vibrio cholerae, Salmonella typhi, S. dysenteriae and Klebsiella pneumoniae. The acetone and ethanol (95%) extracts showed high activity against nearly all test microorganisms.
