At a median follow-up of 14 months based on the last date a CT of the chest was obtained, 76% of patients were free from local disease progression. At a median follow-up of 18 months for survival data, 65% of patients were alive. 287 volumes (25 GTVs and 262 lymph nodes) were evaluated. Multivariate analysis demonstrated that node volume and SUV were independently predictive of recurrence in that volume (p< 0.001). Low SUV (0 to 3) lymph nodes had a recurrence rate of 5.2%. To determine whether this was a result of incidental radiation delivered to these nodes, we evaluated the rate of recurrence in low SUV nodes receiving less than 45 Gy. These nodes also had a low rate of recurrence of 5.6%. Intermediate SUV (3 to 5) volumes had a recurrence rate of 13%. All of the intermediate SUV nodes that recurred had a volume of 10 ccs or greater. For volumes with a high SUV (greater than 5), 22 …
