Nowadays, elastomeric materials with a wide range of properties as a valuable strategy play a wide role in meeting the needs of reconstructive medicine and tissue engineering. In the last two decades, poly glycerol sebacate has shown great potential in the medical industry, especially in the engineering of soft tissues. Although PGS has an elastomeric and biocompatibility nature, it has poor mechanical properties. To overcome this problem, different composites and nanocomposites with hydroxyapatite, carbon nanotubes, graphene, etc. can be used. In this study, we review the properties of PGS-based composite and nanocomposites, as well as their applications in tissue engineering.
