The contradiction between high resolution in azimuth and wide measuring swath exists in conventional SAR system, which can be relieved by applying range DBF (Digital Beam-Forming). But in real radar system, deviations between range channels are inevitable, which will lead the actual synthetic beam pattern deviate from the expected form, impairing the performance of the system. Focus on real data processing, a method of range DBF combined with channel equalization algorithm is presented in this paper, which can compensate deviations between channels validly and improve the result of DBF processing. Airborne flight experiments with 8 range channels validate the proposed method.
