Amiodarone chlorhydrate is a diiodated benzofuran derivative, and it is used to treat cardiac
rhythm abnormalities. Hepatotoxicity is a relatively uncommon side effect of amiodarone,
and symptomatic hepatic dysfunction occurs in fewer than 1% of the patients taking
