We investigate the use of Hg as a proxy for volcanism by studying four distal and two
proximal sections in relation to the Deccan volcanic center, straddling the Cretaceous–
Paleogene (KPg) boundary at (a) Højerup (Denmark), Bottaccione and Padriciano (Italy),(b)
