This review focuses on the rationale for arc therapy, descriptions of the modern arc techniques that are currently clinically available, and highlights some distinguishing features of arc therapies, such as dose distributions, treatment times, and imaging capabilities. Arc therapies are exciting examples of progress in radiotherapy through technological innovation, aimed at ultimately improving the therapeutic ratio for patients receiving radiation.
