Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are the clinical manifestation of atherosclerosis, a chronic
inflammatory disease promoted by several risk factors such as dyslipidemia, type 2 diabetes
mellitus, hypertension, and smoking. Acute CVD events are the result of an unresolved
