We investigated the relationship between platelet to lymphocyte ratio (PLR) and contrast-
induced nephropathy (CIN) in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction
(STEMI) undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention (pPCI). We enrolled 5719
patients in 3 tertiary hospitals from January 2005 to December 2010. The PLR was
calculated as the ratio of platelet to lymphocyte counts on admission. Serum creatinine level
was measured before and within 72 hours after contrast medium administration. To evaluate …

Background: Development of contrast-induced acute kidney injury (CI-AKI) in patients with
ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) treated via primary percutaneous coronary
intervention (PCI) is a major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. The neutrophil-to-
lymphocyte ratio (NLR), which is a marker of inflammation, has been demonstrated to be
associated with the development of major adverse cardiovascular outcomes in many
studies. From this point of view, in this study, we aimed to evaluate the predictive value of the …
