Key findings and conclusions
In recent years, there has been significant interest in the use of spices to treat many illnesses and health-beneficial effects. Due to their biological activity, these compounds have the potential for use in health. It is thought that spices show antidiabetic properties because of major active ingredients. In addition to some spices such as cinnamon, ginger, turmeric, fenugreek, garlic and black cumin, other spices such as cumin, black pepper, curry, coriander, mustard, anise, onion and ginseng are also thought to be effective in diabetes management.
