Numerous randomized trials of many drugs are underway to further inform practice. This version of the WHO living guideline contains new information and a recommendation on ivermectin (1). Increased international attention on ivermectin as a potential treatment for COVID-19 triggered this recommendation.
Recommendations: In this update, the panel makes a recommendation not to use ivermectin in patients with COVID-19 except in the context of a clinical trial. Previous recommendations include:
