Abstract
Caribbean countries have historically relied on agriculture as a source of food and foreign exchange. With increasing changes in global trading arrangements and partnerships, this paper assesses the changes in the production of crops, livestock and food per capita. It also reviewed total factor productivity measures of selected Caribbean countries, which were calculated using the Malmquist productivity indexes. It is shown that there was a wide variety of progress in agricultural productivity among the selected countries, however, for many, there has been a decrease in total factor productivity. The components of this productivity was also evaluated.
