Background
The part of the cesarean wound is an operation on the uterine wall through the stomach due to several medical indications, namely placenta previa, preeclampsia, fetal distress, fetal distress and large fetuses this causes discomfort to post partum mothers. Processed pineapple contains the enzyme bromelain which is useful for anti-inflammatory which can speed up recovery when there is injury or inflammation and high vitamin C content can accelerate the healing process in the body. Vitamin C also enhances the immune system to prevent and fight various diseases.
Objectives
It is known the effect of presenting processed pineapple on the healing of post-section multiparous cesarean wounds.
Methods
Research design used quisi experiment with pretest-posttest approach with posttest control group only. The population of all post-section women with mutipara cesarean at Labuang Baji Makassar Hospital on July 10-17 September 2020. The total sample was 30 post-section cesarean mothers who were carried out by accidental sampling. The data used are primary data by interview and observation. The instrument uses an observation sheet. The data were analyzed using the Mean Whitney test with an error rate (ɑ= 0.05). The sample in this study were multigravida post-secsio cesarean mothers at Labuang Baji Hospital with 15 mothers each for the intervention and control groups so that the total sample was 30 mothers.
Results
The average score of wound healing in the intervention group was 0.73 and in the control group 1, 20. The results of data analysis using the Mann Whitney test get the value of p= 002< α= 0.05.
Conclusion
Provision of processed pineapple has an effect on post-SC wound healing in multiparous mothers.
