In this paper, which, in some respects, continues a previous one [1] chemical reactor problems will be shown to demonstrate an interesting parallel behavior to certain mechanical systems. For this purpose the same mathematical tools, notions and concepts of modern differential geemetry will be proven to be adequate as they were used generally for the description of chemical systems in [1]. We hope that the reader will find convincing that parallels between mechanical and chemical systems can be fruitful as in the past methods of classical mechanics were used with success in other parts of applied mathematics.
Many texts deal with modern description of classical mechanics, for example we refer for the basic definitions and notions to Abraham and Marsden [2], v. Westenholz [3], Loomis and Sternberg [4]. For notions of chemical kinetics we again refer to [1] and the literature cited therein.
