For many years, natural products have been used as medicinal agents all over the world. Still continuing to be widely used in most countries, traditional and complementary medicine are the primary source of healthcare for millions of people especially the use of ethnomedicinal plants like dao, Dracontomelon dao (Fig. 1), a Philippine native tree under family Anacardiaceae that is widely distributed throughout South and Southeast Asia [1, 2]. The tree is planted as an ornamental in roadside plantings and used for firewood. The flowers and leaves are cooked and eaten as a vegetable as well as for food flavoring.
