Currently, many of patients with Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) are being treated
suboptimally without psychiatric care. Early screening and diagnosis can aid in the difficult
management involved in caring for these patients, and more importantly, may reduce the
severe morbidity and mortality associated with BDD.
