Character association and path analysis of grain yield and yield components in Maize (Zea Mays L.)

SVVPKDR Babu - Electronic Journal of Plant Breeding, 2015 - ejplantbreeding.org
An investigation was carried out to assess the character association and path analysis for
nine characters viz., days to 50% tasseling, days to 50% silking, days to maturity, plant
height, cob length, kernel rows per cob, 100-seed weight, protein content and grain yield per
plant in 29 genotypes (twenty one hybrids, their seven parents along with a check 30-V-92).
Association studies revealed that, six out of nine characters exhibited highly significant
positive correlation with grain yield per plant. However, the traits 100-seed weight, cob …

[PDF][PDF] Character association and path analysis of grain yield and its components in Maize (Zea mays L.) under heat stress

AP Dash, D Lenka, SK Tripathy, D Swain… - International Journal of …, 2020 - researchgate.net
Globally, maize (Zea mays L.) is the third most important cereal crop, which is cultivated on
nearly 197.19 million hectare of land with wider diversity of soil, climate, biodiversity and
management practices with production of 1134.75 million tonnes and productivity of 5.76
tonnes per hectare (FAOSTAT, 2017). India is the sixth largest producer and the fifth largest
consumer of maize in the world, grown on an area of 9.22 million hectare with production of
28.72 million tonnes and productivity of 3.12 tonnes
