Combining ability for green forage yield and its component characters were studied using
five lines and ten testers. Mean sum of squares for lines and testers were significant for most
of the characters indicating the presence of enough variability among the parents. Variance
ratio of general combining ability to specific combining ability indicated the presence of non
additive gene action for most of the characters. The parents 2219A, ICSA363, M-20, PC-5
