Conformationally locked chromophores of CFP and Sirius protein
NS Baleeva, AS Tsarkova, MS Baranov - Tetrahedron Letters, 2016 - Elsevier
Recent works have demonstrated the potential of fluorescent protein chromophores as
useful dyes with unique photophysical properties. Herein, we report the synthesis of two
novel highly fluorescent dyes based on conformationally locked chromophores of the
fluorescent proteins CFP and Sirius. These novel synthetic dyes demonstrate high
fluorescence quantum yields and pH-independence in the physiological pH range, making
them promising molecular tools for a broad range of fluorescent labeling applications.
