Abstract
The LUX herbarium of the National Museum of Natural History is estimated to hold 100.000 specimens documenting the plant and fungal diversity mainly of Luxembourg. In 2019 two batches of herbarium specimens were sent to Picturae for imaging, including several historic herbaria in bound volumes. The resulting 67.116 specimen images give unprecedented access to the herbarium collections to researchers and the general public via the MnhnL Species Observation Database (https://map. mnhn. lu/) and the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (gbif. org). Additional work is needed to maximise the online use of the herbarium collection, including the processing of specimen backlog, data cleaning and geo-referencing.
