Dual port pattern reconfigurable MIMO antenna with suppressed harmonics for WLAN applications

A dual port MIMO antenna system integrated with Low Pass Filter (LPF) is presented in this
paper. The prototype provides a 2: 1 VSWR band width over the entire 2.4 GHz WLAN band
and suppresses up to third harmonics (up to 11GHz) when fabricated on FR4 substrate. The
antenna, if placed in XY-plane can generate a total of six different reconfigured patterns

Since the filter and the antenna are integrated over same substrate, the back-end circuitry of prototype is simplified making it power efficient and fast.
