Abstract
Genetic parameters of milk yield, fat percent and fat yield of test day (TD) and 305-day record were estimated in Holstein cows kept in Isfahan province of Iran during 1990 to 2002 using restricted maximum likelihood (REML) applied to a multiple trait animal model. Heritability estimates in TD records ranged from 0.093 to 0.273 for all traits and increased towards midlactation and decreased toward the end of lactation. Genetics and phenotypic correlation among TD measures were large (>0.73), TD and 305-day record for all traits increased from the first TD towards midlactation then decreased as lactation and lactation stage advanced.
