Abstract
The inverse analysis of radiative transfer in participating media has a large number of practical applications. Several heuristics that mimic natural behaviors have been proposed for the solution of optimization problems. Here we present an implementation of the recently developed stochastic Particle Collision Algorithm (PCA) technique combined with the deterministic Levenberg-Marquardt method (LM) for the solution of the inverse radiative transfer problem of radiative properties estimation, which is formulated here as an optimization problem. Test case results demonstrate the feasibility of the use of the proposed hybrid method PCALM.
