Flow past two rotationally oscillating cylinders
Journal of Fluid Mechanics, 2023•cambridge.org
Wake interaction of two rotationally oscillating cylinders in side-by-side configuration is
studied experimentally at a Reynolds number of 150. Five spacing ratios, is studied. An
estimate for drag coefficient is also made from the PIV data following a detailed control
volume analysis. It is observed that the set of forcing parameters that correspond to
maximum and minimum drag also yield extrema in the values of circulation and fluctuation
intensity.
