Green synthesis of TiO2 and its photocatalytic activity

GV Khade, MB Suwarnkar, NL Gavade… - Journal of Materials …, 2015 - Springer
Anatase titanium dioxide nanoparticles were prepared from titanium oxysulphate (TiOSO 4)
as a precursor and the base polymer Polyvinyl Pyrrolidone is used as a capping agent. TiO
2 nanoparticles were characterized by XRD, SEM, TEM, EDS, FT-IR, DLS, UV–Vis. Diffuse
reflectance spectrophotometer. From XRD analysis it is seen that obtained diffraction peaks
are broad which indicating that crystallite size is very small. Scanning Electron Micrograph
(SEM) revealed that TiO 2 nanoparticles has diameter of 10 nm calcined at 400° C …

Green synthesis of TiO2 and its photocatalytic activity

M Rani, U Shanker - Handbook of Smart Photocatalytic Materials, 2020 - Elsevier
Titanium dioxides (TiO 2) have been the fascinated nanomaterials for majority of numerous
promising uses (solar cells, self-cleaning, gas sensors, deodorization, antifogging, and
wastewater remediation) due to their superhydrophilic property. Having binary metal oxide
composition, TiO 2 is found in three different polymorphs that are named as anatase, rutile,
and brookite. Each morph has its characteristic bandgap energies with rutile TiO 2 (3.0 eV),
anatase TiO 2 (3.2 eV), and brookite TiO 2 (3.2 eV). TiO 2 has found extensive use as …
