Abstract
This chapter presents the integration of digital stories (DSs)—individually created online storylines that require the successful integration of text, images, and sounds—by six learners in an advanced Spanish writing class to enhance learners’ 21st-century digital skills. Following a task-based approach, learners developed a DS through topic investigation, revision of narrative drafts, and inclusion of images and sound. Additionally, learners participated in (a) 11 online journals designed to analyze the learners’ approaches to the narrative text and its development into an oral text, and to the integration of image and sound;(b) a final reflection regarding the DS development process; and (c) a questionnaire designed to clarify learners’ DS working process and its benefits and drawbacks.
