Leiomyosarcoma of the head and neck: report of two cases and review of the literature
Leiomyosarcoma is a malignant smooth-muscle tumor that is exceedingly rare in the head
and neck region. Two cases of this uncommon tumor localized in the larynx and the
parapharyngeal region are presented in this report, which might be the second
leiomyosarcoma in the parapharyngeal region reported so far to our knowledge. We also
discuss the diagnosis and treatment of leiomyosarcoma in this aspect.
