A local thickness-dependent permittivity is derived in closed form for bounded non-local wire-
medium structures. This permittivity is then introduced to CST Studio Suite, and the results of
the homogenized structure are compared with the simulation of a true physical structure,
showing a drastic reduction in the computational time and memory. The CST results with the
local thickness-dependent permittivity and the true structure show good agreement in far-
field and near-field applications for both microwave and terahertz frequencies.
