Maximal leakage minimization for the Shannon cipher system
2016 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory (ISIT), 2016•ieeexplore.ieee.org
A variation of the Shannon cipher system, in which lossy communication is allowed and
performance of an encryption scheme is measured in terms of maximal leakage (recently
proposed by the authors [1]), is investigated. The asymptotic behavior of normalized
maximal leakage is studied, and a single-letter characterization of the optimal limit is
derived. Moreover, asymptotically-optimal encryption schemes are demonstrated.
